All I want for Christmas 2021

 The girls were specific in their desires this year.

Riley has found so much joy as part of her rowing team this year and absolutely loves the sport.  Knowing that there's an indoor rowing competition coming up in February (barring that Covid and the omicron variant don't ruin it) and that she'd be able to row indoors over the summer it was an easy decision to get her the rower.  It's an amazing workout!  Riley taught all of us the form and we had fun learning how to use the machine.  Riley is phenomenal at it.  Excited that she'll be able to use it for years to come.

Julia's desire was a harder one to fulfill.  Sure, we could have just purchased a puppy and trained it and all the things, but it just wasn't the right timing.  She understood, but was disappointed.  Hard when your sister gets what she asks for and you don't.  Also a good lesson that just because you want something doesn't mean you get it when you want it.  

What she did get was an incredible Christmas in many other ways.  For her birthday in 2019 she and Jeremy were supposed to go to a Mavericks basketball game.  They had great seats.  Tickets ready to go.  And then Covid.  We weren't able to get tickets until recently and had held off until we were fairly certain (as certain as you can be right now) that the game would happen.

We were able to get great seats again and my dad got to go with them on December 23.  The guys had her leave the house with them to eat at Burning Rice, one of her favorite Korean restaurants, and then drove her downtown.  She didn't have any idea what was happening until they got closer to American Airlines Center and saw the big billboard.  We knew she'd wanted a jersey so they were able to get her one at the game.  The Mavs played the Milwaukee Bucks and lost the game 102-95.  Julia had a fabulous night out with the guys and loved being at the game.  Not to mention that she saw an Aston Martin and a Lamborghini as they were leaving the game.  The girl loves her sports and her cars.
