Zoom Meetings with Julia's Third Grade Class
Every Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9:30am Julia's class is participating in Zoom meetings with their amazing teacher. Mrs. White does the most wonderful job of allowing students to talk and share how they are doing. We live a few streets away from Mrs. White and her family so we see her often on walks and in the neighborhood. She had shared with me how cute it is to see them all talk and asked if I had seen or heard any of the calls. I hadn't been listening in so today I chose to sit next to Julia's bed to listen for a bit. It was adorable!
Today was a scavenger hunt day in the room that each student was in. Mrs. White explained that if there was something in the room where they were in that they were not allowed to touch that today was not the day to touch it. To respect the rules of their family. She'd then call out things like 'Find at object that is red' or 'Find something that starts with the letter S.' Julia found a GSES water bottle in her room that was red and a shell that started with s.
At one point Mrs. White allows each student to share something from their weekend or just something in general. One of the boys said that they had a question for Will so Mrs. White allowed them to talk for a minute. The boy said, "Will, are those tattoos real or fake?" Will answered very seriously, "They're fake." The other boys replied, "That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure." It was so cute. Kinley shared a long story. Julia replied that she couldn't remember what she did this weekend, but maybe sleeping.
I loved it.
