If You Don't Have a Pool, Get Creative

We don't have a pool.  The girls are wishing we had one because it's been in the 80's and it's gorgeous outside and they would love to be jumping in.  Not sure when the Sparkman pool will open, but hoping it will sometime this summer!  Today was the second time that the girls decided to make the best of what we do have and it was a blast.

Julia has a large water squirt tube that she got at the end of swim season last year.  We all changed into our bathing suits, laid out towels on the patio in the backyard, and brought out two large bowls of warmish-hot water.  We cranked some fun music on Riley's phone and had a blast.  We laid out in the sun for a bit and enjoyed the warmth.  Then Julia took the large squirt tube, added water from one of the bowls, and began to squirt us all with it.  Felt so great.  The girls took turns squirting each other and laughing.  We even had a short dance competition.  Julia and I danced to the music together and then separately.

At the end of our time outside Riley wanted to get her legs more tan so she laid out on a towel while Julia sat and snuggled with me on one of the patio chairs.  We sat outside talking and singing.  It was easily an hour of relaxing, giggling, talking, and singing.  It was the best part of the day for sure!

Val (our maltipoo) kept coming in and out the back door.  At one point he tried drinking the water, but didn't like it at all.  Likely too warm for his taste.  He got a little wet and hung out near us for a while before deciding he preferred to be inside the house.

After we had gotten some Vitamin D, we laid out the towels to dry and went inside.  I was about to do my daily run in the neighborhood and Riley asked if she could join me.  Julia was totally fine to chill at home.  Riley and I spent about 25 minutes doing a walk-run workout on the Peloton app.  It's so awesome - highly recommend this app!  We talked about everything and nothing.

Got home and had a wonderful dinner with Jeremy.  The girls had such a wonderful day together (we won't talk about lunch - that was not so great, but it was overshadowed by the other wonderful moments of the day).  Love being home with them to enjoy days like today.
