Mamaw is going on a long trip
Gaylan called me yesterday to let me know that Mamaw was progressing rapidly towards meeting God. She hasn't been responsive in two days and hasn't eaten or drunk anything. Hospice was called in. They said that it'll likely be anytime over the next 7-10 days. Knowing Mamaw she'll be here all ten of those days - she's such a fighter. She told the people at AbbaCare a few days ago that she was going on a long trip soon. And here she is.
Gaylan was able to get clearance to go in to see her one more time. They have been on lockdown because of the virus and not allowing anyone in. Glad they made this exception for him. He said he spent time doing everything you would do to show love to someone - singing, rubbing her back, praying, touching her arm. Super sweet. Mamaw was unresponsive and I'm sure that was difficult to see. She's 100 years old and has lived a long life. I think Jesus is ready to have her home and just praying it's a peaceful transition.
