Julia's First Volleyball Game
On Friday Julia played her first game on the Volley Llamas. She was nervous and excited about whether she'd be able to serve the ball over the net. She's been practicing hitting the ball against the outside of the house and in the air around the house and to me some of the time, but it's different on the court.
It was so much fun to watch her play! She went for the ball and had no fear of it. Several times she hit the ball back over the net (volleyed) and earned points for her team. She served really well and hit the ball over at least twice which is impressive considering that many times the ball doesn't go over for third graders.
Several moms asked us if she'd played before and were really amazed at what a great player she is. It was really great that Riley sat and watched the entire game - first time I think I've ever seen her watch a full game and she was really proud of Julia too. After the game she put her arm around Julia's shoulders as they talked. So sweet!
We went to Carabba's afterwards for dinner. Julia was so tired and practically fell asleep at the table (likely would have if we'd let her).
