Spoiled Rotten Dog

Our dog Val is incredibly spoiled.  Who knew we'd all fall in love with him so much?!

When we moved to our current home we decided not to put up the gate to the stairs or to the back hallway.  This means that he has full access to the entire house.  This is good and bad.  We have to keep closet doors closed and watch over anything that he might be able to access.  His favorite hiding spot is under Julia's bed.  We always know that he's found something he shouldn't have if he's under there at any point during the day.  His favorite items:  underwear, anything from the trash, paper towels.  Sometimes socks too.

Val wanted to be near me at night so he would snuggle either next to me or at my feet at night.  He's grown tired of this.  We have chairs at the end of our bed so now he'll paw at the bed to come up, but then hop down off the bed into the chairs and onto the floor.  He has been searching out new areas to sleep: next to the chairs in our room, on the couches in the living room, and on the living room rug.

He's become extremely spoiled in terms of his food.  Whenever Jeremy mades a meal with any kind of meat, Val waits nearby the food with his tail wagging.  He knows that he will get a bite of it mixed in with his food.  He has decided that he doesn't want to eat his regular dog food unless there's a little bit of meat mixed in the top (lol!).

My dad spoils him like crazy with treats.  Val loves him SO much!!  He'll give him a treat first thing in the morning or just if he feels like it.  Val loves it when Grandpa arrives because he knows it means there's lots of treats coming his way.
