Shopping for COE

Julia's fifth grade COE is coming up this Tuesday.  She'll spend three days in Austin at Enchanted Rock and I get to be one of the teachers on the trip as well.  Lucky her ;)

We went shopping at REI and Target today.  I don't usually return many things, but we had items that needed returning at both places.  Love being a member of the REI Co-op because it means that our gently used and like-new items that have been worn can be turned in for someone else to enjoy and we can get a little bit back to help towards new purchases.  Returned a pair of shoes, raincoat, and pants...then bought a new pair of shoes, raincoat, and pants.  

Then we went to Target to return items I'd purchased for her to use, but ended up not working at all.  Sleeves were too short and pants not fitting right.  Took back the shirts and pants... bought new shirts.

The best part was not only finding things that will work for her now, but spending less that we would have if we had just kept the other items and not returned them.  And we got some great mom/daughter time too.
