Freshman Homecoming - Riley (Ursuline)

Riley went to homecoming last weekend and to a Quincenera for one of her friends the weekend before.  Two events that involved shopping and finding two very different and beautiful dresses.  Riley, my mom, and I spent hours and hours shopping.  It took a while to find a long formal dress for the Quince and then a cute short dress (but not too short) for homecoming.  Riley found two dresses that fit her perfectly!!

Her Quince dress was navy with stripes of silver that sparkled, but were barely noticeable.  It fit her like a glove!  We ended up having to get it hemmed and took it to Nordstrom Rack, where the seamstress did a gorgeous job of making sure the dress hid her shoes, but wasn't long enough that she'd trip.

As she tried on the dress with her shoes we realized that the material was catching on the sticky part of the shoes (the back was like a glittery look).  After looking online, we found a hack!  You spray the shoes with hairspray and let them dry.  We did two coats and it worked perfectly.

Riley's homecoming dress was a dark forest green.  It wrapped in the front, had long sleeves, and a slight ruffle at the bottom.  I curled her hair with a 1 1/2" curling iron so that the bottom of her hair curled under.  She has the THICKEST hair ever!!  It looked gorgeous.

Riley went out with a group of rowing girls (Penny, Kaitlyn, Andrea, Maisie) and a neighbor friend who is on the swim team (Avery).  We met up at Glen Cove Park to take pictures at the gazebo before heading to dinner at Flower Child.  Then the girls went up to the school to enjoy time with friends at the dance before heading back to Avery's house for ice cream.

Riley was exhausted so I brought her home around 11pm.  Grateful that she's enjoying high school so much and had a fun time at her freshman homecoming.
