N plus O equals NO
One of those mornings where you just need a restart. Riley was throwing fits and crying really loudly since she couldn't get to sleep until 10pm. Julia was sniffly and wanted four gummies - not two - so she was crying. Madi got a short, stern lecture about being grateful and not taking things for granted. We definitely needed a better night of sleep and a restart on our morning. All of us.
We get in the car and the girls and I are eating breakfast. Riley starts putting letters together and asking what they spell.
R: What does Q and O make?
Me: Qo!
R: What does P and O make?
M: Po.
R: What does S and T make?
M: St.
And on it went until...
R: What does N and O make?
M: No.
R: MOM, what does N and O make?
M: It makes no.
R: MOOOOMMMM! Ugh!!! Tell me what N and O make!
M: N and O make no. Riley, it makes the word no.
R: Mom. You are sooo mean!
M: When you put the letter N with the letter O, it makes the word no.
R: I'm not listening to you anymore, Mom. You're so mean!!
Madi and I were giggling in the front seat. I explained why she was so cute and after many attempts to demonstrate that N and O actually create the word no, Riley started to giggle too.
