Riley and Mom Week

While Jeremy and Julia were at Hogwarts/Universal, Riley and I enjoyed a quiet week at home.  Mostly we decided on what to eat and ordered out every night except one.  And watched a show called Ginny and Georgia on Netflix.

On Friday we took the day off school and spent it shopping, eating, and hanging out.  Riley's 8th grade graduation is coming up in a few weeks and she needed a graduation dress and Eucharist dress.  I thought she needed an after-party dress as well, but turns out the graduation dress is also the party dress.  We made an appointment with a personal shopper at Nordstrom.  She had a large dressing room filled with cocktail dresses and fancy dresses to try based on the information I shared ahead of time.  Riley tried on several dresses and found two really beautiful ones that worked for Eucharist and the party.  The Eucharist dress is a pale green and the party dress is a fitted white.

We walked over to Dillards and found this beautiful light wine colored dress for graduation.  It was neat to see her light up when the right dresses were discovered.  You just always know when you know...

After shopping for four hours we went out to eat at Flower Child and treated ourselves to a little I Heart Yogurt for dessert.  It was so much fun talking with her and spending time with her.

During the week we ordered out at Masala Wok and splurged on a girls night out to one of the best restaurants I've ever been to in my life:  Rise No. 1.  Friends have shared about this souffle restaurant and it's food, but it is something you have to experience yourself.  One of our favorite parts was the atmosphere inside.  There were thick cloth napkins, tables that felt like you were in Paris because of the woven seats, books and tree branches covered in lights.  Great ambience.

We ordered the Marshmallow Soup.  It's actually mini cheese souffles that look like marshmallows floating in soup made of tomato, carrot, ... and I forget what else.  It was delicious!!  We ordered savory souffles and an oreo dessert souffle.  It is officially one of our new favorite restaurants.
