Tooth Fairy Revealed

Since Julia had two teeth extracted, we knew that Violet (Vi) needed to make an appearance.  During Julia's dentist appointment I went out to the lobby to text Jeremy about her teeth so he'd know to create the letter from Vi.  This morning Julia woke up and when I went in her room we looked at her letter from Violet.  Julia was super excited that it came with $10 (the only cash money we had on us - lol).  She then asked if Dad had written the note because it looked like paper from his office.  She shared that her friend Yvie got letters from her tooth fairy that were written by her dad and that it looked like something Dad had written.  It was pretty clear that she knew.  So I asked her if she wanted to know.  We both smiled and she was like, "I know.  Dad wrote it."  I asked how long she'd known and she said she'd known for about a month.  But that she'd waited to tell until another tooth had fallen out.

I showed her where we'd kept some of her teeth when we hid them.  She thought this was hilarious.  She said that she knew that fairies weren't real.  I asked if she knew about anything else not being real.  She thought about it and said, "Just fairies."

She began to realize more and more things about Violet's notes.  She was like, "Wait... did Violet really get hit by a car and have her wing clipped?  Or did Dad make that up?"  Then she was like, "Oooohhhhh  I get it now."  She asked if we had made up all the fairy names and I shared that it was all Jeremy's idea.  He's done such a clever job of writing fairy notes throughout the years that are so sweet and also humorous.

It's a sweet moment when the girls figure out 'all the things' they've believed over the years.  Julia handled it well.  Now we can just have fun with the letters still...
